This is a video I feel needs to be watched not JUST by people who want to design games, but to people who want be artists, who want to be writers, creators of music, videos, any form of ‘entertainment’.
This is a fundamental rule that is at the heart of ALL creative works. You have to make mistakes to get ahead. You have to learn from those mistakes to make something great. You have to be willing to accept others harsh words and turn them into something better.
Every idea starts out stupid. Do it anyway. Then make it better. Learn what did work, learn what didn’t. Then improve it, make it better. Be willing to say your idea was a failure sooner, then move on and make something greater.
Throw your idea out there, let it fail, then bring it back with it’s problems fixed. And do it again and again until you’ve got something you like. Nothing starts out perfect, everything takes work. Let your creativity flow and keep it flowing.
There are a lot of people who don’t understand this, or think they know it but don’t realize they don’t actually get it.
Fail faster everyone. So that way, you can succeed faster too.
